Pudappandian - Son Of Nedunj Cheliyan I Of Pandya Empire

Pudappandian - Son Of Nedunj Cheliyan I Of Pandya Empire
Pudappandian was the son and successor of Nedunj Cheliyan I of the great Pandya empire. There were many rulers before Nedunj Cheliyan I who rule Pandya empire but the first Pandyan king who has been mentioned in the Sangam works recovered so far is Nedunj Cheliyan I, the father of Pudappandian.

Pudappandian ruled Pandya empire with his capital at Madurai. He also very much a expansionist and invaded Ollaiyur ( near modern day Pudukkottai ). This invasion earned him the title Ollaiyur Thantha Pudappandian. He was also a poet like his father and contributed to the Purananuru collection. He was succeeded by Nedunj Cheliyan II who was also known as Pasumpun Pandyan.
