Panwar was sheltered by the Sultan of Mandu. Rana Kumbha demanded for the
surrender of Mahpa Panwar, but Sultan Mahmud Khilji refused to surrender the Mahpa
Panwar. This initiated the way to battle. With refusal of Sultan Rana Kumbha
prepared for the battle and advanced to attack Mandu. Ahmad Shah of Gujarat and
Muhammad Shah of Delhi supported Rana Kumbha against Sultan Mahmud Khilji. The
Sultan Mahmud Khilji also advanced with a powerful army to meet Rana Kumbha.
