One of the most inspiring characters of
Mahabharat is "Karna". Karna the uncrowned hero. He is one of the
most captivating characters of Mahabharat. Karna was known for his
loyalty, honestly and courage. He was a great warrior and often known as “Anti-Hero”
because of his true friendship with Duryodhan. Even though he was on wrong side
many people considers him as real hero in Mahabharatha. Many people believes
that he is the true warrior and far better than Arjuna.
He gave everything he has, to all people
who came for. He never refused any one's request even at the time of his death
too. He dies with tragic end. He moved through all turns of life. He called by
many names by many people. Some people called him with love and others called
him with hate, whatever his name is…he is KARNA a mighty warrior, a loyal
friend, a true hero.
Different names of Karna
1.VASUSENA
This is Karna’s original name given to
him by his foster parents Adhiratha and his wife Radha. As karna was born with
natural armor (Kavach) and hear rings (Kundal), he named as Vasusena.
Karna was originally born to Kunti as a
result of boon given by Yogi. Kunti was afraid to be a mother before marriage.
So she left Karna in a river where Adhiratha and his wife Radha found him and
taken him with them. After that they named Karna as Vasusena.
2.RADHEYA
Karna was popularly known as Radheya
because he is the son of Radha. Karna was never aware of the fact that he is biological
son of Kunti. Later, before the Kurukshetra war he came to know that he is not
the biological son of Radha and he was abandoned by his mother Kunti in a river.
3.ANGARAJ- The King of Anga
Karna was the most skilled archer in
Mahabharata. Dronacharya arranged archery tournament in Hasthinapuram. Karna
went to participate in that tournament against Arjuna. But he was not allowed
into the tournament because the tournament is only for kings. Duryodhana as he
was always against Pandavas, he wants to see Arjuna’s defeat. So he gave the
part of his kingdom, Anga to Karna and made him king for Anga. Since then Karna
named as Angaraj.

5. VAIKARTANA
He got this name, as he carved his own “kavach”
from his chest along with his kundal to offer to a Brahmin in disguise. That Brahmin
is Indra. Though Karna aware of that, he gave his Kavach along with his Kundal
to Indra.
6.VRISHA
Karna was also named as Vrisha because
of his righteous nature. He was always kind even to his enemies. He helped
Indra even though he knew he would get killed if he helps Indra. He kept all
his vows.
